Homebound is a personal safety app designed for outdoor adventurers. Whether you're hiking remote trails, climbing mountains, diving deep waters, or exploring the backcountry, Homebound ensures someone always knows where you are and when to expect you back.

Who Is Homebound For?
Solo hikers venturing into backcountry trails • Climbers heading out for a day on the rocks • Divers who need surface interval accountability • Skiers and snowboarders hitting the slopes • Cyclists on long solo rides • Kayakers and paddlers exploring waterways • Groups coordinating adventure trips • Anyone doing outdoor activities where safety matters.

The idea for this app originally was to encourage more people to explore our beautiful Earth, staying safe while doing so. However, Homebound can be used in any situation where you want someone to know where you're going and when you expect to be back/there. For example, college students walking back to their dorms at night, parents tracking kids on field trips, going out to bars with friends, or college students going out to frats/parties. The idea of Homebound is to help you come up with a plan and share it with someone you trust, so that if something goes wrong, they have the information they need to help you.

How It Works
1. Create a Trip – Set your activity type, location, start time, and expected return time.
2. Add Safety Contacts – Choose emergency contacts or Homebound friends who will be notified if something goes wrong.
3. Check In – Tap to start your adventure when you head out.
4. Check Out – Mark yourself safe when you return. If you don't check out by your ETA plus a grace period, your contacts are automatically alerted with your trip details and last known location.

• Automatic Alerts – If you don't check out on time, your safety contacts are immediately notified with your trip details, location, and any notes you've added.
• Real-Time Updates – Contacts receive notifications when you start your trip, check in, extend your ETA, or complete your adventure.
• Live Location Sharing – Optionally share your real-time location with safety contacts during active trips so they can follow your progress.

Friends & Social
• Add Friends – Connect with other Homebound users and add them as safety contacts.
• See Friends' Adventures – View when your friends are on active trips (based on their privacy settings).
• Privacy Controls – Choose exactly what friends can see: your location, trip notes, achievements, and profile stats.
• Request Updates – Ask friends on active trips to check in so you know they're safe.

Trip History & Stats
• Adventure Log – View all your past trips with details, locations, and timeline events.
• Achievements – Earn badges as you reach milestones in your outdoor adventures.

Privacy First
• No Background Tracking – We don't continuously track your location. You control when to share.
• Your Data, Your Rules – Granular privacy settings let you decide what to share and with whom.
• Account Deletion – Delete your account anytime, and all your data is permanently removed.
• Data Export – Download all your trip history and personal data.
