Description
SynStrategy is a new app for anyone studying or working in organic synthesis. The key feature is the categorization of both named and unnamed reactions according to the functional groups they form, helping students and practitioners navigate the vast landscape of organic transformations.
The app features 27 main functional group categories, and each category is further subdivided (for example, Alcohols include primary-, secondary-, tertiary-, allylic-, homoallylic alcohols, etc.). This structured organization is designed to give chemists a clearer view of available transformations during synthetic or retrosynthetic analysis. SynStrategy currently includes over 500 transformations, with their synthetic usecases highlighted in more than 400 total synthesis examples.
In addition to the reference library, SynStrategy includes interactive features to help you study and organize these transformations. You can save specific reactions into custom datasets, which can be exported and shared with colleagues. You can also test your knowledge using the app's new study modes: a Quiz system, featuring three formats with multiple-choice or advanced questions modes to identify reactions and total synthesis steps, and a traditional Flashcard mode. Both modes include session analytics so you can track your progress.
There are countless exceptional total syntheses and synthetically relevant methodologies in the literature and we aim to grow the selection in this app over time. You have a particular reaction or total synthesis example you would like to see added? E-Mail us! serviceofsynthesis@gmail.com

Nouveautés (v1.1.0)
This release significantly expands SynStrategy’s educational features, transitioning the app from a structured reference tool to an interactive learning platform for students and practitioners of organic chemistry!
Custom Dataset Management
Users can now curate and manage personalized reaction collections. This feature allows you to save specific transformations into custom datasets as you browse, making it an ideal tool for exam preparation or organizing lecture- or research-specific reactions.
• Export & Import: Share your custom datasets with peers or import collections from colleagues, making it easier to study together.
Quiz Sessions
Challenge your knowledge with a versatile new quiz system designed to test different areas of expertise:
• Multiple-Choice Mode: Select from four different options to identify a reaction overview, a reaction name, or the specific reaction used in a total synthesis example.
• Advanced Mode: Test your expertise by manually typing in the name of the reaction within a reaction overview or a total synthesis example.
• Session Analytics: Pause and resume a Quiz session at your convenience. Upon completion, a detailed review helps you identify areas for further study.
• Included Datasets: The app includes pre-installed datasets, allowing you to start practicing with the new Quiz and Flashcard modes immediately.
Flashcard Mode
Select between three formats and use traditional study cards in the new Flashcard function to review reactions. Like the Quiz sessions, Flashcard sessions can be saved, resumed, and reviewed.
