Woodworker's Companion is your all-in-one shop assistant: calculators built for woodworkers, a full business suite, and utilities that stay out of your way—100% free. No subscriptions. No ads. Your data never leaves your device unless you choose to move it.


PRIVACY FIRST
Everything is stored on your phone. Clients, projects, inventory, quotes, invoices, and journal entries stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded to the cloud unless you export a backup. No in-app advertising—no banners, overlays, or videos. I may add hard-coded affiliate links only when I recommend products that are genuinely useful; your data is never used to target you. I’m committed to keeping it that way.

Board Foot – Lumber volume, cost, and waste; save board lists with status (e.g. shopping list, ordered, received).
Fraction Calculator – Add, subtract, multiply, divide in fractions; kerf mode for cut counts; precision that matches your tape measure.
Project Pricing – Multiple pricing models so you can quote accurately.
Cut List Optimizer – Minimize waste with 2D layouts and visual cutting diagrams.
Wood Movement – Seasonal expansion/contraction for 20+ species.
Finish Mixing – Shellac and custom finish ratios with mixing instructions.
Epoxy Resin – Resin and hardener amounts for any pour.
All calculators support metric and imperial; switch in Settings and convert existing data when you need to.


UTILITIES
Unit Conversions – Length, area, volume, weight, temperature, mass, and speed (metric ↔ imperial).
Decibel Meter – Measure shop noise, save readings for reference, with calibration and A‑weighting for consistent results.


FULL BUSINESS SUITE
Project Management – Tasks, time entries, and expenses per project. Custom statuses (Quote, Design, Construct, Completed, etc.). Change orders to document scope and price changes. Link projects to clients and to quotes/invoices.
Inventory – Lumber, tools, consumables, hardware, and custom categories you define. Custom fields per category, storage locations, low-stock awareness. Filter, search, and keep stock under control.
Clients – Contacts, notes, and project history in one place.
Quotes & Invoices – Create quotes, convert to invoices, track payments. Business profile (name, address, logo) and default template in Settings. Change orders on invoices with a clear audit trail. Print, save as PDF, and share (email, Messages, etc.).
Workshop Journal – Notes, photos (with annotations), voice memos, measurements (with labels and units), and milestones. Organize by project or date. Active-build dashboard. Export/import supports journal media (ZIP backup).


DATA & BACKUP
Export a backup (JSON or ZIP with photos/voice) from Settings. Store it on-device or move it via Files, Drive, or any share sheet. Import later to restore or move to a new device. You own and control the file; I don’t have access to it. In-app docs explain backup and restore in detail.


CUSTOMIZATION
Settings: measurement system (imperial/metric) and currency (USD, EUR). Theme (light/dark/system). Business profile and default document template. Project statuses and inventory categories/fields and storage locations are all editable. Changelog in Settings so you can see what’s new.

I’m a one-person team, and I’m focused on making this the most useful app for woodworkers—clear, fast, and respectful of your data. There’s an optional Support / Donate section if you want to buy me a beer; you will never be required to pay a fee or subscription. Honest feedback and suggestions are welcome so the app can keep improving.
