As always, thank you for continued feedback! This update is monumental for Lookdrop, and our Creators on the platform. Here's where are hard work for this update went to:
- Cinematic Mode is reborn! True native Apple Log capture — 10-bit 4:2:2 color, full BT.2020 wide-gamut, ~14 stops of dynamic range.
- Pro Colors baked at log values via Metal. Your selected Pro Color is sampled directly against the raw 10-bit log code values via a Metal compute shader, creating color accurate pro-grade footage.
- 4K reliable end-to-end. Over 95% less memory used during Cinematic recording.
- Pro Color library is faster and uses ~75% less memory while browsing.
- New: Film Effects toggle — capture with just the LUT, skipping halation/bloom/grain when you want a cleaner look.
- Film Mode flash matches Apple's native flash exposure (+0.5 EV brighter) — no more magenta cast on skin.
