Description
Boris is the local guide built for military families navigating a PCS to the Kaiserslautern Military Community in Germany.
Whether you are incoming, getting settled, or preparing to move out, Boris organizes what you need to know by where you are in your PCS. It is written for an OCONUS move to Germany, not generic relocation advice.
WRITTEN FOR YOUR STATUS
Active duty, GS civilians, contractors, and NAF employees do not always get the same answers in Germany. Boris asks once, then shows the version that applies to you, including the parts of SOFA status that change what you are supposed to do.
WHAT BORIS COVERS
- Step-by-step PCS checklists tailored to your status
- Budget tracker for first-weeks costs, private, on your phone

Nouveautés (v1.4.7)
We went back through the checklist and fixed what was wrong
Some of it was about money. Post Allowance and overseas COLA are not taxable, and the app said they were. If you planned around those numbers, plan again.
Passport waits were listed at up to 12 weeks. They are 4 to 6 weeks, or 2 to 3 expedited. And most contractors do not qualify for the no-fee official passport, which we had wrong in the other direction.
DEERS and ID cards are not handled at RAPCON. It is the RAPIDS ID Cards Office, Bldg 2106 Room 117, and it is closed Wednesday mornings.
EFMP screening does not block your orders. If a family member does not clear, what gets denied is their command-sponsored travel, and you still have options.
We also fixed locations showing up for the wrong service branch, and map pins that would not open.
Same Boris underneath: no account, no email, no ads. Just the local know-how you actually use.
