Description
HamSat is the satellite tracker built for amateur radio operators
PASS TRACKING
• Live sky dome showing the satellite's arc through your sky, with a glyph riding the path in real time
• Fullscreen Live tracker mode — big AZ/EL numbers, Doppler-corrected dial frequencies, no scrolling needed during a pass. Rotates to landscape for a split-pane view.
• Aim mode uses your phone's compass to overlay where the back of the device is pointing, with on-screen hints that tell you exactly how much to tilt and turn until you're locked on the satellite
• Bearing and altitude chip pinned to the sky dome
• Apple Maps ground track with horizon footprint
OPERATING DURING A PASS
• Doppler-corrected RX (and TX for SSB/linear birds) dial frequencies, updated every second
• 10-minute reminder + AOS notifications you can deep-link straight back to the pass detail
• Live Activity + Dynamic Island shows the pass in progress on the lock screen, with elevation and azimuth ticking live
• Pass rows show a bell badge whenever you have an alert scheduled, so you can tell at a glance which passes you'll be notified about
ALWAYS OVERHEAD
• "Always overhead" section on the Home tab lists any geostationary satellite currently in your sky — QO-100 (Es'hail 2) for European, African, and Middle East operators
• "Find it in the sky" button on the satellite detail — point your phone at the bird and see the aim reticle line up with the satellite glyph, useful for verifying line-of-sight is clear of buildings, trees, or terrain from your QTH
• Free-tier — no Pro required to see or aim at geostationary satellites
SATELLITE CATALOG
• Friendly amateur designations everywhere: SO-50, AO-91, RS-44, JO-97 — with launch names as subtitles
• Search by either name or NORAD ID
• Curated radio metadata for the most-worked birds, plus live SatNOGS data for the long tail
• Filter by mode (FM voice, linear, beacon, data, telemetry) and hide inactive satellites
DATA SOURCES YOU CAN TRUST
• Multi-source TLE: races CelesTrak vs. AMSAT, or pin to whichever you trust most
• N2YO pass predictions when you provide a key, with smart quota budgeting that reserves your hourly calls for favourites + ISS
• Snapshot fallback so the app keeps working when networks don't
PRIVACY-FIRST
• Your location stays on-device. Pass predictions are computed locally; nothing about you is sent to any server.
• Orbital data fetched from public sources (CelesTrak, AMSAT, N2YO, SatNOGS).
• No accounts, no tracking, no ads.
HamSat Pro adds

73 — and good DX!
Nouveautés (v1.10.1)
Fixes an issue where the pass list could omit daytime passes when N2YO data was active. All radio-workable passes now appear regardless of whether the satellite is visually observable
