Description

Nyingmapa Calendar brings the traditional Tibetan Buddhist lunar calendar to your iPhone; faithful to the Nyingma lineage, bilingual in English and Tibetan, and beautifully designed for daily practice.

WHAT'S INSIDE EVERY DAY Each date opens a detailed view with nine information cards covering:

Lunar date in both Arabic and Tibetan numerals
Classical 4-element system: Water, Earth, Fire, Wind
Auspicious and inauspicious status with practice guidance
Recommended and avoided activities per traditional sources
Nine-activity astrological system
Religious festivals, Dharma anniversaries, and institutional observances
Masters' Parinirvana dates from nine major Nyingma lineages
Deities and practices associated with each lunar day
General notes and contemplative reminders

THE 4-ELEMENT SYSTEM Nyingmapa Calendar uses the classical Buddhist 4 element system drawn from the White Beryl text and the Chapter on the Hair of a Bodhisattva. Each of the 30 lunar days carries one of the four elements in a repeating cycle used for centuries in Nyingma practice.

MAJOR LINEAGE EVENTS
Festival data and Masters' Parinirvana dates cover the principal Nyingma lineages

BILINGUAL THROUGHOUT
Every term, days of the week, elements, lunar phases, and animal signs appears in both English and Tibetan. Tibetan script is rendered in Noto Serif Tibetan. Longer descriptions load from dedicated language files for accurate, context-sensitive translation. Switch languages in Settings at any time.

NEWS & TEACHINGS
The News tab delivers the latest articles and teaching schedules from Nyingma masters directly inside the app.
