Rewind is the iPhone app that gives you a second chance.

Instead of asking you to hit record before something interesting happens, Rewind quietly keeps a short, rolling memory of what your microphone just heard. When the moment turns out to matter, one press saves the last few minutes — after it already happened.

HOW IT WORKS

Tap Start Listening once. Rewind maintains a private rolling buffer of the last 1, 3, 5, 10, or 15 minutes of audio. Anything older is overwritten and gone. Nothing is saved unless you ask.

When you want to keep what just happened, save it from anywhere — the Home screen, the iPhone Action Button, Siri, Spotlight, or Shortcuts. Rewind stitches the recent buffer into a clip, transcribes it, and drops it in your Library. Listening keeps going so you don't miss what comes next.

EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR PHONE

Rewind has no account, no cloud, and no upload path. There is no server to opt out of. Audio files and transcripts live in your app sandbox, protected by iOS encryption. The only network call Rewind ever makes is the one-time download of the on-device transcription model. After that, it works offline.

Optional Face ID can lock the entire Library so your moments stay yours alone.

ON-DEVICE TRANSCRIPTION

Every saved clip is transcribed locally using Whisper. Titles are generated for you. Optional speaker labels separate who said what. Search your Library by transcript text, title, date, or duration — instantly, with nothing leaving the phone.
