Description
PlateMap is the map of dishes worth eating.
Most food apps map restaurants. PlateMap maps the plate. Every pin is one specific dish at one specific venue, with a real photo taken by someone who was about to eat it. Search by what you crave — pierogi ruskie, tonkotsu ramen, shakshuka — and see exactly what people loved.
WHAT'S DIFFERENT
- Dish-first, not place-first
Restaurants own the place. We map the plate. Search "pierogi" and you see actual pierogi, with ratings and the venues that ranked highest.
- Real photos, every pin
No marketing shots. No food-stylist plates. Every photo on PlateMap was taken by someone with a phone, sitting at the table, about to eat.
- Ranked by people who ate there
Leaderboards are computed from ratings — never paid placement, never sponsored positions. Ever.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Open the map. See the dishes pinned around you, photo and all.
2. Tap a dish. See every photo, every rating, and the venues that serve it best.
3. Pin your own. Two taps to add a plate to the map.
NOW IN WARSAW
We're starting with one city to make the dish density real before opening anywhere else. Use it for lunch tomorrow. Pin what you find. Help build the map.
WHAT WE DON'T DO
- No paid placement. Restaurants cannot buy a higher rank.
- No targeted advertising. We have no advertising IDs.
- No tracking outside the app. We don't sell your data.
Nouveautés (v1.1)
PlateMap 1.4 — Discover better, share faster.
The biggest update since launch. Here's what's new:
DISCOVER MORE
- "Trending now" rail at the top of Discover — see what Warsaw is pinning this week, updated live as new ratings come in.
- "More like this" recommendations on every dish page — find the next pierogi, the next ramen, the next bigos worth trying.
- Curated "Cuisine of the week" highlight — handpicked themes so you always find something new to crave.
EAT MORE EASILY
- One-tap "Book a table" from any venue. Opens reservations through Google Maps, OpenTable, Resy, Restaurant Club, and Tablebook automatically based on what each place supports.
- Native iOS share sheet now sends the dish photo with your link — your friends see exactly what you ate, not just a URL.
- Pull-to-refresh on Discover, Saved, and Notifications.
POLISH LANGUAGE
- Full Polish language support, switchable in Settings → Language.
- Auto-detects from your device language on first launch.
- Idiomatic translations crafted for Warsaw foodies — not machine-translated boilerplate.
UNDER THE HOOD
- Apple Sign-In hardened — fixes the auth issue some users hit on iPhone Pro models.
- Brand new floating-pill bottom navigation with smooth animations.
- 75% reduction in network usage when browsing the map.
- Faster sign-in transitions — no more stuck-on-loading-screen.
- iOS keyboard now properly hides the bottom nav so it never sits over the input you're typing in.
- Dozens of polish fixes: tap targets, scroll behavior, photo loading, error states, accessibility.
