Jaan (ਜਾਨ — Punjabi for "life" and "vitality") is a free companion app for your Oura Ring. It started as a personal project — I love my Oura, but I always felt there was more to learn from the data. So I built Jaan to dig deeper, and I'm giving it away for free.
WHAT'S ACTUALLY HURTING (OR HELPING) YOUR RECOVERY?
The Insights tab is where Jaan earns its place on your phone. Tag your days — alcohol, caffeine, sauna, strength training, late meals, stress, whatever fits your life — and Jaan analyzes how each one correlates with your readiness, HRV, heart rate, and sleep quality over a rolling 90-day window.
You get a ranked breakdown of every factor with real impact numbers: "Sauna days: +5.2 readiness on average." Jaan also spots the tag combinations that lead to your best sleep nights, shows you how workouts affect your recovery over the following 1–3 days, and builds a personalized "Good Day Blueprint" comparing your top 20% recovery days against your worst — so you can see exactly what distinguishes your best days from your worst.
A DEEPER VIEW OF YOUR NIGHTLY DATA
The Recovery tab goes well beyond what the Oura app shows. Your sleep and readiness scores sit front and center, with a full breakdown of the vitals behind them — HRV, resting heart rate, lowest heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature deviation, and sleep stage splits. Every metric is compared to your personal baseline and tappable for a 28-day trend.
The interactive sleep timeline lets you drag through your entire night and see exactly what was happening — sleep stages, HRV, and heart rate plotted together, second by second. It's the view Oura doesn't give you.
Jaan also surfaces your Breathing Disturbance Index with a 14-day trend — a signal that often goes unnoticed but matters.

Jump to any day in the past 180 days. Calendar and list views let you scroll back through your nights, see what tags you had, and compare how different days looked across all your metrics.
ACTIVITY & DAILY TIMELINE
See your daily energy expenditure, active and total calories, and a unified timeline of your workouts and tags for the day — what happened, when it happened, and how long it lasted. Weekly expenditure trends help you see the bigger picture.
