Kura: Curated Eastern Spaces

Kura is a tribute to the Eastern aesthetic and cultural presence in North America.

The app curates cafés, tea houses, dining, and public spaces across cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco, inviting exploration through typographical layouts and immersive photography, some captured exclusively by designer Haolun Yang.

Unlike static guides that require searching by location, Kura surfaces places by proximity, presenting the nearest first. Browsing feels less like consulting a directory and more like drifting through a city with quiet intention.

Powered by MapKit, each place can be discovered on an interactive map and opened directly in the Maps app, bridging the moment of curiosity with the act of arrival.

Each entry reveals the cultural connections and design narratives behind a space, offering a deeper understanding of the intentions that shape it.
