What's new (v2.0.0)
This is the big one. We spent the past 6 months rebuilding Cubby from the ground up, and just about every screen in the app has been touched. Here's what's new.
A BRAND-NEW LOOK
Cubby got a full makeover. There's a soft watercolor backdrop throughout the app, message bubbles shaped like little hand-drawn clouds, and a warmer sage-and-terracotta color palette that feels a lot more like us. Dark mode is now a deep, easy-on-the-eyes navy—perfect for those early mornings and late evenings.
REAL-TIME MESSAGING
Chat is completely reworked. Messages now appear the instant they're sent, so there's no more pulling to refresh and waiting. You'll see when someone's typing, who's currently in the conversation, and you can long-press any message to react with an emoji. You can also attach photos, videos, and PDFs—up to five per message—and they upload together in the background.
THE NEW GALLERY
Every photo and video shared with you—from activities, comments, posts, and messages—now lives in one scrollable grid. Tap a photo to swipe through them full-screen, or tap a video to play it. No more digging through old threads to find that one picture.
BETTER TOOLS FOR OWNERS AND MANAGERS
We rebuilt the admin area into a single, tidy Console where everything lives—classrooms, billing, charges, reports, schedules, and time-off requests. The Today dashboard now shows the metrics and shortcuts that matter most to you, whether you're a manager, a teacher, or behind the scenes.
For centers with more than one location, there's a whole new set of tools: move a student from one location to another (billing, enrollment, and chats follow automatically), transfer several students at once, and schedule a tuition change to take effect next month—no more calling support to do it for you.
A REAL TABLET EXPERIENCE
On iPads and Android tablets, lists now fill the screen instead of leaving awkward empty space, and chat bubbles widen so messages aren't crammed into a narrow column. Rotate to landscape and everything still looks right.
MORE CONTROL IN SETTINGS
Settings is now a clean hub instead of one long list. Adjust your theme, text size, list spacing, and even whether lists show as flat rows or rounded cards—and the live preview shows you exactly what each choice looks like before you commit.
SMOOTHER FORMS EVERYWHERE
Every form in the app behaves consistently now. Errors show up right next to the field instead of as pop-ups, the keyboard has Next, Previous, and Done buttons to walk you through, and the Save button never gets hidden behind your phone's home bar.
