Description
Travax puts the world of travel medicine at your fingertips in 3 sections: Destinations, Library, and What's New.
Destinations provides an in-depth Medical Summary with carefully nuanced vaccine recommendations, detailed independently researched malaria prevention measures, assessment of travelers' diarrhea risk and effective medications, other important health risks, and medical care infrastructure assessment and access information.
Detailed searchable country maps for malaria and yellow fever show where specific preventive measures are recommended, and elevation maps are included for countries with territory above 2,800 meters (9,200 feet).
Additional country-specific documents include Cross-Cultural Considerations, an analysis of cultural conventions intended to help travelers avoid missteps and misunderstandings; Safety and Security, with important crime and safety information; a recap of Basic Protective Measures travelers should take; Hospitals, listing the locations and capabilities of medical facilities in key locations throughout the country.
Library makes more than 100 travel health topics available for research with multiple document types available for many, including academic-quality provider summaries, traveler teaching sheets, and Travax Literature Watch Reviews (abstract, commentary, and conclusion for published articles selected for their impact on the practice of travel medicine or addition to the knowledge base).
What's New shows current bulletins and provides a searchable 2-year history of updates to Travax information. Typical items include disease outbreak information (usually reported as Current Health Bulletins in the country Medical Summary), Current Safety Bulletins from the country Safety and Security page, updates to significant changes to destination-specific medical recommendations, and updates to Library articles and the addition of Literature Watch Reviews.
