What's new (v1.4.3)
Pladio — Release Notes 1.4.3.2605081635
Summary
- More details on this release at ```https://pladio.link/mbn```
- Smarter song recognition that adapts to different stream metadata formats and retries quickly when the first guess doesn't match.
- macOS Local tab works again — fixed Location Services authorization so nearby stations are shown.
- AirPlay improvements on iPhone, iPad, and Mac with reliable device switching and a clearer status display.
- CarPlay no longer skips two stations at once when tapping previous/next on the steering wheel.
- Manual (custom) stations are now included when navigating through your favorites.
- Audio playback recovers smoothly after route changes between speakers, headphones, and AirPlay.
- Equalizer Preset Editor is more reliable with crash protection and a polished layout.
New Features
- Smart song recognition: A new ICY metadata normalizer handles stations with non-standard formats — empty titles, classical music with composer lifespans, and mojibake-corrupted text from European stations (e.g. "Félicien DAVID" → "Félicien DAVID").
- Outcome-aware retry: When Apple Music can't match a song, fingerprint recognition triggers immediately for a faster correct identification instead of waiting.
- AirPlay status on iPhone and iPad: The Player View now shows the connected AirPlay device name, matching the Mac experience.
- macOS AirPlay handover: Selecting an AirPlay device on Mac now seamlessly switches the audio path so playback reliably follows the picker.
- Privacy-friendly location text: Updated permission messages confirm that your location stays on your device and is never sent to any server.
- Updated radio station database (May 2026 edition).
Fixes
- macOS: Local tab now correctly shows nearby stations again (Location Services authorization restored).
- CarPlay: Fixed an issue where pressing next/previous on the steering wheel would skip two stations at once.
- Player: Tapping next/previous during buffering now correctly switches the stream instead of only updating the displayed station name.
- Audio engine: When the stream stalls, the player now shows the correct paused state.
- Equalizer Preset Editor: Improved sheet handling prevents potential crashes when creating or editing presets.
- Equalizer on macOS: Layout polish — the "+" button is now in the header and stays visible during horizontal scrolling; sheet sizing improved.
- Audio routes: Switching between built-in speakers, headphones, and AirPlay now resumes playback reliably without silent output.
- iOS: The audio pipeline now recovers automatically after a system audio service reset.
- Manual stations: Custom stations now appear in favorites navigation (next/previous) on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, CarPlay, and Apple Watch.
- Apple Music authorization: Reduced repeated logging for users who have declined Apple Music access.
Refactorings
- Equalizer presets: The "Customize" option has been removed from factory presets — only user-created presets show Edit and Delete actions.
