Description
Most music discovery today feels passive. You open a streaming app, something is already waiting for you, and within a few minutes you’re hearing music that technically fits your taste but doesn’t really move it anywhere. The system is efficient, but it tends to keep you circling the same sounds instead of actually finding something new.
Cassetto is built on a different assumption: that people are better at discovering music than algorithms.
Every song on Cassetto is there because someone chose to share it. Not because it was predicted to perform well, not because it matches a pattern, but because it meant something to them. That decision becomes the starting point for how music moves through the app.
When you post a song, you can attach your own context—whether that’s a quick thought, a memory, or just a reason you think it’s worth hearing. From there, other people can listen, react, and engage with it. Over time, you start to see which songs land, which ones travel, and how your taste connects with others.
Discovery is shaped by how you move through the app. The Discover feed opens up a broader view of what people are sharing publicly, while Friends and Following pages let you stay closer to the people you actually trust to put you onto something good. Instead of being pushed toward content, you decide where to look and whose taste you want to spend time with.
Listening stays connected to the platforms you already use. Songs are shared through direct links and can be played through your streaming service, so you’re not switching environments just to explore something new. As you listen, you can like and react to posts, adding a layer of interaction that reflects how music is actually exchanged between people.
Your profile becomes a record of your taste over time. Every song you post is saved, making it easy to look back at what you’ve shared and how your music has evolved. Nothing disappears into a feed or gets lost after a moment—it stays tied to you.

Cassetto is designed around a simple loop: someone shares a song, someone else discovers it, saves it, and passes it on. Over time, that loop starts to build something you can actually see—how music spreads, where it resonates, and who’s shaping what gets heard.
It doesn’t try to replace the way you listen to music. It changes how you find it.
