Description

Retrodex is the ultimate companion for retro gaming. An encyclopedia and digital museum for enthusiasts, and the best collection tracking and management tool for collectors. Browse, catalog, and manage your collection across classic gaming platforms — from NES and SNES to Genesis, PlayStation, and Dreamcast.

BROWSE & DISCOVER
Explore a curated catalog of thousands of retro games with box art, screenshots, vintage ads, and promo videos. Switch between poster-wall grid and list views, filter by genre, rarity, release year, and more. Pinch to zoom the grid to your liking. The Discover tab surfaces a Game of the Day, top-rated picks, and personalized recommendations based on your collection.

BUILD YOUR COLLECTION
Mark games as Owned, Wanted, or Played. Rate your favorites, add personal notes, and log purchase details — price, date, store, and cartridge condition. Use Swipe Mode to rapidly sort through a platform's library, Tinder-style.

SCAN YOUR CARTRIDGES
Point your camera at a cartridge label and let Retrodex identify it using on-device machine learning.
Supports label formats for NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, and more. Rapid-add mode lets you scan and catalog your entire shelf in minutes.

DEEP GAME INFO
Every game entry includes developer, publisher, genre, release dates, IGDB ratings, and rarity data.
Browse RetroAchievements, view digitized manuals, and explore cheat codes — all in one place.

BACKUP & SYNC
Back up your collection to iCloud automatically. Export to CSV for spreadsheets or import games from a file. Your data stays yours.

What's new (vv1.10)

- Search now groups results by franchise — chips above the list let you jump to all the Mario, Zelda, or Castlevania matches in one tap.
- Game detail surfaces a game's franchise and themes alongside genre and player count.
- Game lists now flag every Owned and Wanted title with a colored pill next to its row, so you can see what's in your collection at a glance.
- New menu in the scanner toolbar lets you pick how cartridges get identified — cartridge label plus UPC barcode (the default), label-only, or barcode-only.
