Should you walk to the next stop or wait where you are? Line 22 answers that question in seconds.
Line 22 is a real-time transit companion for AC Transit riders in the San Francisco Bay Area. It covers all 123 AC Transit routes and over 4,600 stops across the East Bay. Using live bus data from 511.org, the app calculates whether you should stay at your current stop or walk to the next one to catch an earlier bus.
Two ways to use it:
I'm Here Now — Uses your phone's GPS to find the nearest bus stops around you. Tap any stop and get an instant Walk or Wait recommendation.
Plan a Trip — Browse all 123 AC Transit routes, pick your direction, and choose your stop. Sort stops alphabetically or in the order the bus travels them.
For each stop, Line 22 shows you real-time bus arrival at your current stop, real-time bus arrival at the next stop, walking distance and time between the two, and a clear recommendation: Walk or Wait.
Line 22 was created by a student who rides AC Transit every day. This app is a work in progress and your feedback helps make it better. Tap the purple banner in the app anytime to report issues, suggest features, or share ideas.
