Tom Taps – AAC Board

Tom Taps Speak is a picture-based AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app designed in collaboration with speech-language pathologists to help children and individuals with communication impairments express themselves.

Lovingly conceived by a father to help his son — diagnosed with autism — communicate with the people around him, Tom Taps has grown into a full communication tool built on the Australian Linguistic Approach to AAC (ALgS) and the Fitzgerald Key colour-coding system.

Multiple Boards — Create boards tailored to different people, environments, or needs. One board for home, another for school, another for therapy.

Custom Cards — Add your own vocabulary with custom pictures and labels to personalise any board.

Modelling Mode — Caregivers and SLPs can use Aided Language Stimulation (ALgS) to model language without composing a sentence, supporting natural communication development.

Sentence Composer — Tap cards to build sentences, then play them back with clear text-to-speech.
