This update is for everyone who hunts rocks in the real world—not just photo scanners. Plan trips, read the land on the map, identify finds by region, and log what you collect.
Map & land intelligence • Turn on reference map layers: BLM lands, National Forest, National Parks, state parks, BLM leases & permits (MLRS), USGS mineral deposits (MRDS), and more
• Geology overlays: bedrock, surficial/quaternary geology, historic topo mine symbols, wilderness areas, ACEC, and state trust lands where available
• Tap overlay features for land & mineral context (reference only—always verify access and rules on the ground)
• Improved layer info sheet layout so Close is easy to reach above the tab bar
Spots & community trust • “Popular” curated spots with on-the-ground verification messaging
• Community voting and Suggest a fix for signed-in users—help keep spot data accurate
• Verified Safe indicator when a popular spot has been reviewed on the ground
