Description
Plan your renovation on a wall photo and hand your electrician a polished Renovation Brief PDF — cover page, materials list, electrician checklist, the whole package. Whether you're a homeowner planning a remodel or a contractor documenting a job site, WireSketch turns rough ideas into a complete plan.
HOW IT WORKS
Photo your wall (or Quick Sketch). Enter dimensions in cm. Region-aware zones and heights appear. Place fixtures. Export to PDF, PNG, or CSV.
HOMES — GROUP ROOMS UNDER ONE ROOF
Plan a whole place, not one wall. Create a House, Flat, Apartment, Garage, or Commercial; set the address (GPS resolves the electrical region); drop rooms in. Every project inside shares one electrical code, so multi-room renovations stay consistent.
CIRCUIT PANELS (Pro)
Lay out every breaker in your panel — label, amp rating, curve type, notes. The wand auto-fills the panel from the fixtures you've placed: kitchen appliances each get a dedicated circuit, EV chargers get the right amperage, bedrooms and living rooms get grouped sensibly. Live warnings flag overloaded circuits and code violations. Add a main panel plus sub-panels for larger homes and assign each room. Export a printable Panel Report PDF.
THE RENOVATION BRIEF (Pro)
The full PDF for your electrician: cover, wall sketches, materials list, plus a "Questions for my electrician" checklist with 8 items to discuss before work begins.
34 FIXTURE TYPES
Sockets, switches, dimmers, lights, Cat6/TV outlets, floor heating, kitchen appliances, outdoor sockets and garden lights, EV chargers, smoke detectors, RCD/GFCI breakers, junction boxes, conduit, distribution boards.
SAFETY ZONES BY REGION
Four standards named honestly, by the standard rather than the region: DIN 18015 + VDE 0100 (Germany; reasonable start for AT, German-speaking CH, NL), BS 7671 (UK, 18th ed. A2 2022), NEC base (US planning reference, not jurisdiction-compliant), AS/NZS 3000 (AU/NZ). Wet rooms apply IEC 60364 Zone 0/1/2 across all four. Outdoor: IP65/IP67 + 60 cm burial.
Limits we don't hide. France (NF C 15-100), Spain (REBT), Italy (CEI 64-8), Belgium (AREI), Switzerland (NIN), Canada (CSA C22.1) are not separate selectors — for those, layout planning only. NEC state amendments (Title 24, NYC, Chicago, MA), NEC year selection, and AFCI dwelling-unit rules (NEC 210.12) are out of scope. A licensed electrician must verify before installation.
ROOM TYPES + TEMPLATES (Pro)
Dry room, wet room, kitchen, outdoor — each with fixture heights and installation rules. Pre-built layouts for bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, home office, and hallway.
CABLE & MATERIAL ESTIMATE
Per-circuit cable type and size (NYM-J for EU, Twin & Earth for UK, NM-B for US, TPS for AUS), total length, conduit, junction boxes, plus material and labor cost estimates in your region's currency.
KNOWLEDGE BASE (Pro)
33 entries on standards, symbols, formulas — each cited to the original IEC/NEC/BS/AS-NZS section and Wikipedia. Four converters: Watts↔Amps, AWG↔mm², voltage drop, solar yield. Daily highlight on the projects screen is free.
SOLAR PLANNER (separate purchase)
Plan your solar system from a satellite snapshot. Automatic panel packing, yearly yield, inverter & battery sizing.
WIRESKETCH PRO
Free: up to 2 projects with 5 fixtures each. Homes and the daily Knowledge highlight are free. Pro (one-time, no subscription): Renovation Brief PDF, Circuit Panels with auto-fill + Panel Report PDF, unlimited projects/fixtures, multi-wall sketching, room templates, cm measurements, full Knowledge Base. Solar Planner is a separate purchase. Existing buyers of Multi-Wall, Pro Measurements, or the Pro Bundle keep everything.

What's new (v1.8)
WireSketch 1.8 brings two big additions: Homes and Circuit Panels.
• Homes — Group your rooms under a House, Flat, Apartment, Garage, or Commercial space. Each home knows its address and electrical region, and projects (rooms, gardens, outbuildings) inside it share a consistent set of code rules. Drop a project into a home from the projects list, or create it from inside the home.
• Circuit Panels (Pro) — Lay out every breaker with its label, amp rating, and curve type. The wand auto-fills the panel from the fixtures you've placed — kitchen appliances each get a dedicated breaker, EV chargers get the right amperage, and bedrooms/living circuits get grouped sensibly. Live warnings flag overloaded circuits and code violations. Add main + sub-panels for larger homes and assign rooms to each. Export a printable Panel Report PDF.
Also in 1.8: smarter region detection based on your location, source citations on every Knowledge Base article, lots of small auto-validations, performance improvements, and bug fixes.
Thanks for the great feedback!
