Works with any audio setup: hearing aids paired over Bluetooth, AirPods, wired headphones, or the phone's own speaker. Speech recognition runs entirely on your device — audio processed by Wire Captions is never sent anywhere. We built this for a family member with near-total hearing loss, and we built it to work the way he actually uses his phone.

A note on names: Over-N-Out uses callsigns, not verified accounts. Pick whatever name you want when you join a wire — it's not checked against anything. Treat names you see on a wire as informal, the way you'd treat a handle on a CB radio.
A note on connections: Wires with no activity for an extended period will disconnect automatically to conserve resources. You'll get a notification before it happens.
No ads. No accounts. No tracking. Over-N-Out is free to download and free to use — premium features for power users are coming down the road, but we're not building a paywall around the basics.
