The free aquarium journal that respects your privacy.
No login. No account. No subscription. No data collection — ever. TankLog stores everything on your device and never sends your information anywhere. There are no servers holding your data, no analytics tracking your behavior, and no third-party access to your records. Your water test results, livestock records, maintenance history, and tank photos stay completely private. Export your full log at any time in a portable format, taking your data with you. Your aquarium history belongs to you, not us.
Track Your Water Chemistry
Log water tests for pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, KH, GH, Phosphate (PO₄), TDS, and Temperature. Set your own target ranges for each parameter, and TankLog grades every result instantly with a color-coded score — so you can see at a glance whether your water is in the ideal zone, drifting, or needs attention. The Last Water Test tile on your home screen shows your most recent results at a glance, with a grade for every parameter you track. The Parameter Trends screen charts every reading over time, making it easy to catch slow pH drifts, creeping nitrate build-up or KH fluctuations before they affect your fish or plants.
Customize Your Test Settings
Choose exactly which parameters appear when you log a water test. Toggle optional parameters on or off with a single tap — enable Phosphate (PO₄) to monitor nutrients in a planted tank, or TDS to track total dissolved solids in a high-tech or reverse osmosis aquarium. KH and GH are on by default, but can be disabled if you don't test them. Ammonia and Nitrite are always tracked as essential safety baselines. Set custom minimum and maximum target values for every parameter, or tap Reset to defaults to restore our recommended ranges in one step.
CO₂ Estimation
TankLog calculates dissolved CO₂ from your pH and KH readings and displays the result as a color-coded zone: very low, low, ideal, high, or at risk. Perfect for planted tank and aquascape hobbyists who want to keep CO₂ in the growth-optimized range without stressing their fish.
Water Changes & Maintenance Scheduling
Log every water change with date, volume, and notes. Build a fully customizable maintenance schedule — water changes, filter cleans, fertilizer dosing, equipment checks — and TankLog will send a push notification when each task is due. Overdue tasks are flagged on your home dashboard, so nothing gets missed.
Equipment Tracker
Record every piece of equipment on your tank: lighting, filtration, CO₂ system, heater, pumps, dosers, and more. Log brand, model, wattage, and purchase date for each item. Equipment is organized into collapsible subsections so your full setup is documented without clutter.
Livestock & Plant Inventory
Build a complete record of every fish, invertebrate, coral, and aquatic plant in your aquarium. Log when each animal was added, record feedings directly from the home screen, and track your feeding streak to build consistent daily care habits. Note health observations over time. Search the built-in plant database to quickly add aquatic plants to your planted tank inventory.

v1.24 — CUSTOM LABELS + TILE CONTROLS
MAKE "OTHER" ACTUALLY USEFUL
Dosing, cleaning, and feeding all have an Other option for entries that don't fit the standard types. The problem: log three "Other" doses in a row and you can't tell them apart. v1.24 fixes this with a custom label field. Select Other and a text box appears. Type what it actually was — "Excel", "leaf litter", "conditioning treatment" — and that label shows in your history instead of the generic Other.
Feeding has the same improvement for the For field. If you're feeding something outside the standard categories, name it and TankLog remembers.
HIDE YOUR TEST TILES
Test Settings now has a Hide/Show toggle. Switch it off and the three test-related tiles disappear from your Tank tab — Last Water Test, CO₂ Level, and Param Trends. Your Tests tab and logging stay completely untouched. It's a display preference only.
REORDER YOUR EQUIPMENT
The Equipment section in Tank Specs now has the same up/down reorder arrows as the Care Schedule. Set the order of Lighting, Filtration, CO₂, and Heater to match how you think about your tank — and the equipment tile on your Tank tab follows that order.
