eCubaj. Wood Volume Calculator

eCubaj calculates round wood, lumber, and wood stack (stere) volume directly from your phone, with no internet connection required.

The app is built for people who work with wood in the forest, at the yard, or on the job site.

WHAT THE APP DOES

• Calculates round wood volume from diameter (cm) and length (m)
• Calculates lumber volume from length (m), width (cm), and thickness (cm)
• Calculates wood stack volume in stere and converts it to cubic metres using cubature factors from HG 497/2020 and HG 512/2022
• Covers firewood (hardwood, softwood, brushwood, split stacked or loose) and industrial wood (chipboard/fibreboard wood, residues, chips, sawdust, bark)
• Shows the legal min-max interval, median value, and estimated weight for each stere calculation
• Exports the stere calculation as an image, ready to send via WhatsApp or email
• Saves measurements in separate lists for each batch or order
• Allows editing, renaming, and deleting lists and entries
• Exports results as PDF
• Works 100% offline. No data is sent or received over the internet

CALCULATION FORMULAS

Round wood: V = π × (D / 200)² × L × pieces
D in cm, L in metres, V in m³

Lumber: V = L × (width / 100) × (thickness / 100) × pieces
L in metres, width and thickness in cm, V in m³

Stere: mst = L × l × h, converted to m³ using cubature factors from HG 497/2020 and HG 512/2022
Actual volume shown as legal min-max interval and median value

Round wood and lumber volume is displayed to 4 decimal places.

INTERFACE

The app is designed for field use:
• Large buttons, easy to tap with gloves on
• Light and dark theme, with automatic detection from system settings
• Available in Romanian and English
• Portrait orientation only

LIST MANAGEMENT

You can create as many lists as you need, one for each batch of wood or order. Each list holds round wood and lumber entries, with the total volume calculated automatically. Lists can be renamed or deleted at any time.

LOCAL DATA

All data is saved locally on the phone. There is no user account, no server, and no data collection.

PDF EXPORT

Generate PDF reports with all entries from a list and the total volume. Files can be saved, sent by email, or shared through any app installed on the phone.
