Many learners know this moment: an English word pops up — at a museum, in an article, in class — you let it slide, you forget it. Other apps make you drill the past perfect when what you actually need is to capture the word you just came across.
Rouge Gorge was born from that frustration. The app adapts to your CEFR level, and spaced repetition brings each word back at the precise moment you were about to forget it.
FIVE WAYS TO LEARN
— Capture: grab a word from Safari, Notes, the home screen widget, or right inside the app. Search both ways, English ↔ your language, results in 5 seconds. All forms of the word are stored (present, past, participle).
— Journey: themed worlds structured by level, from A1 to C2 — Academic Discourse, Politics & Geopolitics, and many more. You progress lesson by lesson, like a course, but at your own pace.
— Lists: explore ready-made lists drawn from pop culture (series, films, novels) or build your own thematic lists. Learn the vocabulary of what you watch, read, or love.
— Situational Prep: got an interview, a trip, a presentation? Describe your situation and the app generates the 10 words you need to know. Vocabulary tailored to your context of the day.
— Classroom: for those preparing for an exam. Create a class, import a list, set a deadline. The app handles the rest.

Every day, your session brings the right words back at the right moment — not too early (pointless), not too late (you've already forgotten). Plus a word of the day for curiosity, and a streak to keep the rhythm.
DEFINITIONS AT YOUR LEVEL
The AI calibrates each definition to your CEFR level, from A1 to C2. If you're A1 and the word is C2, the definition stays accessible — what matters is that you discovered it. The translation in your language is hidden by default and revealed in one tap: immersion first.
PRONUNCIATION COACHING
You speak, the app listens, the app corrects. Instant feedback, powered by Microsoft Azure.

Rouge Gorge is available by subscription, with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. Two plans to choose from: monthly or yearly.
Payment will be charged to your Apple account upon confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions in your App Store account settings.

• Better handling of words with multiple distinct translations — e.g. "libéré" now shows "released", "free", and "liberated" as separate cards with the right meaning per context.
• Cleaner display for cross-language homographs — "pain" gives you both bread and pain (the feeling), each on its own card.
• Friendlier error messages when the assistant can't help with a particular input.
