A quiet little app for sharing the books on your shelves with the friends you trust them with.
— How it works —
Add a book by scanning its barcode. Choose which circles of friends can see it. When a friend asks to borrow it, approve with a tap. When it comes back, you both confirm the return.
— What's inside —
• Circles. Small, named groups of friends. Invite-only. No public discovery.
• A shelf for every book you own. Mark them available, reading, lent, or shelved.
• Borrowing that closes properly — both sides confirm a return, so nothing gets lost.
• A comments thread on every book, scoped to a single circle.
• Direct messages and circle chats, in the same place as the books.
• Hide a book from any circle without removing it.
— What it isn't —
Encircled isn't a marketplace, a public feed, or a place to track every book you've ever read. It's just for the books you actually own and the friends you actually share them with.
— Privacy —
Circles are private by design. Books are visible only to the circles you put them in. We don't sell your data and we don't track you across other apps. Read the policy at encircled.app/privacy.
— Free —
Free to install. Free to use. Built by a small team in Austin, Texas.
Encircled is operated by Spacera LLC.
What's new (v1.2)
• Tap a push notification and it now opens the right conversation, circle, or book.
• Fixed an issue where the Create Account button could grey out during signup on a flaky connection.
• You can now hide individual books from specific circles — go to a book you own and look for "Visible in".
• Added a "forgot password?" link on the sign-in screen.
• Polish: cleaner book detail menu, friendlier leave-circle copy, faster Settings.
