Mantle is a place for parents to leave something real for their child — their voice, their words, their photos, the small moments that make up a life. So that one day, their child has something that really feels like them.
The name comes from "mantle": a cloak, an inheritance, a covering. Something passed down, hand to hand. The app is built around that exact idea — what gets passed on, before time takes the chance.
HOW IT WORKS
Each day, Mantle gives you one quiet prompt — a question or memory cue — and asks you to record an answer. It can be a voice memo, a written note, a photo with a caption, or a short video. Just one moment. A few minutes a day, no more.
Every entry files into a chapter — early childhood, holidays, advice, hard days, small joys, your own story before they were here, and so on. Over months and years, those entries become a book of you — in your voice, your words, your images. Something they can revisit at sixteen, at twenty-five, at fifty.
WHY DAILY PROMPTS
The hardest part of leaving something behind isn't deciding to do it — it's knowing what to say. Mantle removes that paralysis. The prompt for the day is already chosen. You just answer.

Save it to iCloud. Drop it on a hard drive. Hand it to your child when they turn eighteen. The file will open on hardware that doesn't exist yet.
This is what Mantle is building toward — not just entries. A capsule.

Everything stays on your device. Mantle has no servers, no accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics, no ads. Your recordings, photos, and notes are stored locally in the app. We can't read them, lose them, or sell them — they aren't ours to touch.
DAILY REMINDERS
Set one time and the days you want to be reminded. Mantle sends a quiet local notification with that day's prompt. Nothing is pulled from a server; everything is scheduled on your device.
