v1.2 9 MB Universal 4+

Description

The personal finance app built for one person — you.

Finolio tracks every expense, budget, and receipt photo entirely on your devices and in your own private iCloud. No servers. No user accounts. No analytics. We can't read your data because we don't have any way to.

The whole app is yours.

WHAT'S INSIDE

Quick capture
• Scan paper receipts with Apple Intelligence — merchant, amount, date, and category fill in automatically
• Voice journal: hold the mic, speak your expenses, the app splits and structures them
• Universal Clipboard pickup from bank emails or messages
• Apple Watch quick-add — two taps from your wrist
• Lock Screen widgets, Siri Shortcuts, home-screen long-press shortcuts

Intelligence that respects you
• Conversational coach — ask "why did I spend so much on dining?" and it answers, all on-device
• Auto-Draft Budget builds your monthly budget from your last 90 days
• Anomaly alerts when a category spikes 1.5× above its eight-week baseline
• Predictive cash-flow: see what's left by next paycheck
• Spending velocity: today's burn rate vs. your 30-day average

Smarter receipts
• Warranty and return-window tracker auto-detects "30-day return" or "1-year warranty"
• Duplicate-charge detection scans weekly
• Item-level reorder reminders learn your typical buying intervals
• Line-item extraction breaks a grocery run into individual items

Apple-native everywhere
• iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch — one purchase, every device
• Custom emoji and Genmoji category icons
• Calendar binding: trip events auto-tag expenses; calendar bills become recurring
• Reminders mirror: budget alerts also appear in your Reminders app
• Focus filter: Work focus shows only work-tagged expenses
• Mac menu bar widget with a Cmd+Shift+N global quick-add hotkey
• Continuity Camera: scan a receipt with your iPhone, data lands on your Mac
• iPad spreadsheet view for bulk-editing transactions in a real table
• Lock Screen accessory widgets, StandBy support, multiple widget sizes

Behavioral tools that don't lecture
• Streak system to build the daily-logging habit
• Friction mode: optional 30-second pause before saving impulse purchases above a threshold you set
• Anti-anchoring entry hides the amount until you've categorized

Privacy controls
• Privacy curtain — one tap blurs every dollar amount and merchant name
• App-switcher cover replaces the multitask thumbnail with the brand mark
• Export your full database as plain JSON anytime
• Delete every record across every device with a single confirmation
• Optional auto-curtain on every launch

WHO IT'S FOR

People who want a finance app that's actually private. Self-employed users tagging expenses by trip or project. Couples sharing a budget without handing a third party their entire financial life. Anyone tired of "free" finance apps that monetize their data.

WHAT YOU WON'T SEE

• No ads. Ever.
• No subscription gate on core features.
• No third-party analytics SDKs.
• No "data collected to improve our service."
• No bank login, no aggregator, no external account.

The optional cloud AI features (receipt smart-scan via your own Anthropic or xAI API key) are 100% opt-in. Without a key, the entire app runs on your device with Apple Intelligence.

What's new (v1.2)

Ten little things that add up.

• Undo delete. Tap Undo on the banner and the expense comes back — receipt, tags, notes, everything.

• Repeat your last expense. Long-press the + button to log a copy of the most recent one at today's date.

• Drafts that survive. Back out of Add Expense mid-form and your typed fields are waiting for you next time.

• Bulk select in Expenses. Long-press a row to enter selection mode, then delete or recategorize in one go.

• Search inside Settings. A search bar at the top jumps you straight to the right panel.

• Sync status chip. A small "Synced X ago" pill on the Dashboard. Tap to nudge a refresh.

• Why this category? An info dot in the Add Expense form explains which rule picked the suggestion — and offers a one-tap "always use this for this merchant."

• Today vs. yesterday on the Dashboard. One line of context so the headline number always means something.

• Empty states that point somewhere. Every empty list now has a clear next step.

• Set up next month in one tap. On the first of each month, Finolio offers to carry your budgets forward.
