NOVA Mobile is the official companion app for NOVA - a Raspberry Pi-based voice assistant with a holographic projected face, voice command interface, smart home integration, and faith-grounded features built for families.
THIS APP REQUIRES NOVA HARDWARE
NOVA is an open-source-style project the developer assembles for friends and family. The app pairs with your NOVA Raspberry Pi over your home Wi-Fi to control the device, mirror its holographic face on your phone, and manage your profile and contacts. Without paired NOVA hardware, the app cannot demonstrate its full functionality.
DEMO MODE
If you'd like to explore the app's interface without hardware, type "demo" as the Pi address during onboarding to enter a hardware-free demo with sample data.
WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH NOVA
- Talk to NOVA from your phone - voice transcription happens on the Pi, replies play through Pi or phone
- See NOVA's holographic face live on your phone (real-time mirror of the Pi's display)

- Set goals, save memories, log family profiles
- Tap-button shortcuts for the most common voice commands

PRIVACY

- Microphone audio and contacts go ONLY to your own NOVA hardware on your home Wi-Fi
- The developer has no visibility into how you use the app
ABOUT NOVA
NOVA is named for "Networked Operations Virtual Assistant." The hardware combines a Raspberry Pi 5, a 7-inch hologram display via Pepper's Ghost projection, a ReSpeaker microphone array, a Bluetooth speaker, and the NOVA Python software stack. The mobile app is a companion that mirrors the hologram face and lets you control NOVA from anywhere on your home network.

Boot Music search: pull custom NOVA startup songs straight from YouTube inside the app, with a start-time picker so you can land on the chorus instead of the intro.
Travel WiFi Setup over Bluetooth: take NOVA somewhere new and connect her to the local WiFi from your phone — no keyboard required.
Family profiles: Parental sub-tab now refreshes immediately when you switch from a minor to an adult profile.
Visual polish: text contrast fixed across the Settings tab so the Boot Music and Travel WiFi sections are easy to read.
Reliability: smoother profile switching, better connection recovery, and several stability fixes under the hood.
