Description
komachat turns your group chat into a manga.
Every message you send is drawn into a comic panel — speech bubbles, screentones, your character reacting in real time, scenery sliding in behind the conversation when someone mentions a coffee shop or a beach. Scroll a chat and you're reading a manga page the two of you wrote together, just by talking.
It's a real messenger underneath: DMs and group chats up to 32, reactions, replies, edits, read receipts, search, pin, mute, archive. The manga is the interface, not a gimmick bolted on top.
WHAT YOU GET
• Manga-page chats — bubbles, tones, panel layouts, and character expressions that shift with the mood of what you're saying
• A roster of 50+ characters to be — or upload your own photo as your avatar
• Group chats with their own group photo and a shared cast
• Scene backsplashes — say "let's grab coffee" or "see you at the beach" and the panel background follows along
• Invite links and QR codes — share komachat.app/i/yourhandle, friends tap and land right in the chat
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
• End-to-end encrypted messages — encrypted on your device before they ever leave it. The server only ever sees ciphertext, even in the lock-screen notification preview.
• No ads. No trackers. No analytics SDKs. Nobody's AI is reading your messages. Your data is not for sale.
• Sign in with Apple — no phone number, no email list.
• Free. The whole thing. No subscription, no "pro" tier, no paywalled stickers.
komachat is a passion project, built solo. It does what a messenger should do and otherwise gets out of the way — it just happens to look like a manga while it does it.
